The Navy Delegation Visited and Worked at the National Hospital of Acupuncture

On the afternoon of March 21, 2023, the Navy delegation led by Rear Admiral Nguyen Dinh Hung - Deputy Commander of the Navy - visited and worked at the National Hospital of Acupuncture.

The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Tran Van Thanh - Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Hospital – along with other Deputy Directors and Heads of Departments / Centers at the hospital.

At the meeting, naval officers were introduced to the hospital’s history of foundation and development, its medical methods of examination and treatment as well as healthcare services, the role of acupuncture in treating diseases and the hospital’s development orientation in coming time.

Representatives of the delegation also presented valuable documentary materials on the Navy.

Rear Admiral Nguyen Dinh Hung mentioned that in view of the harsh weather conditions in the sea and island environment that affect people’s health, the Navy hoped that the National Hospital of Acupuncture could support the training of traditional medical expertise to ensure good examinations and treatments for soldiers and citizens on the islands.

Forms of cooperation include: updating traditional medical knowledge, further training for marine medics with short-term courses such as basic acupuncture, acupressure massage, physiotherapy, etc., and issuance of certificates for participating military medics.

Prof. Tran Van Thanh expressed: “The National Hospital of Acupuncture is always willing to exchange the knowledge of traditional medicine for the island medical staff. In particular, we can provide practitioners with the knowledge of non-drug methods such as acupuncture, acupressure massage, and so on. In addition, the hospital will also donate electro-acupuncture equipment to the island’s health clinics to create a favourable condition for medical treatment for the soldiers and the people. Importantly, we are willing to support soldiers’ relatives and families if they need medical examination and treatment at the National Hospital of Acupuncture.”
